Funmi Lanre-Phillips

Funmi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan, after which she obtained an MBA (majoring in Human Resources Management and Marketing Management) from the Cardiff Business School, Wales.

Over the course of her career, she has held senior management and executive management positions across various portfolios which include corporate affairs, business development, share registration, corporate banking and human resources management; across diverse industries, including construction, finance, banking and energy.

Funmi is passionate about people and all her roles have involved an interface with people either on the external clients’ side or with the companies’ internal clients, its people.
A proven team leader who successfully integrates strategic thinking with strong technical and analytical competencies, Funmi has been responsible for a broad range of initiatives aimed at optimizing business processes and the development, deployment, and support of new systems and processes.
She has participated in several leadership training. Noteworthy are the Women on Boards Training (Wimboard Programme) organised by Wimbiz and IE Business School, Madrid; and the Advanced Management Programme of the Harvard Business School.

Funmi is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) and the Institute of Directors, Nigeria (IOD). She is also a founding member of GAIA, Africa.
She serves as an alternate director on the board of Grange School, Lagos and is a member of the school’s Governing Council.
